Hey there! I’m Charlie, the founder of Plant Faced Clothing. We’re all about spreading the vegan message through stylish streetwear that’s ethically produced and eco-friendly.
Can you tell us a little bit about the brand's story?
As a budding young graphic designer with an interest in fashion and expressing myself through style, I embarked on a journey to spread the vegan message through stylish streetwear that’s not only cool but also ethically produced. I’ve always had that entrepreneurial spirit, constantly seeking inspiration and innovative ideas.
When I transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle, the idea to use fashion as a canvas to promote this powerful movement struck me like a bolt of lightning. I was on the lookout for streetwear that embraced vegan values without being too in-your-face with the word “vegan”. But alas, I couldn’t find anything that resonated with my style and message. That’s when the lightbulb went off, and Plant Faced Clothing was born—a perfect marriage of my love for design, passion for fashion, and dedication to promoting a compassionate lifestyle.

We firmly believe that fashion shouldn’t come at the cost of the environment, exploited labour, OR animal cruelty. Therefore, our mission is to revolutionise the fashion industry by promoting conscious consumerism. We’ve embraced a fair trade approach, partnering with producers who share our values and adhere to strict ethical standards. From the sourcing of raw materials to the creation of our garments, every step is carefully monitored to ensure transparency and fairness. We use eco-friendly vegan inks, 100% organic cotton for most of our products, and recyclable packaging to minimise our impact on the planet. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond just a marketing gimmick—it’s the foundation on which Plant Faced stands tall.

How would you define the style of your products?
The style of our products is a fusion of streetwear and soulful consciousness. It’s all about being cool, confident, and unapologetically vegan! Our designs are equally stylish whilst also carrying important messages to spark awareness. We aim to break stereotypes and prove that conscious living can coexist harmoniously with high fashion. Whether you’re strolling through the city streets or making a statement at a social gathering, Plant Faced ensures you stand out with bold and eye-catching, on-trend graphics.

Which materials do you use in your products?
I’m proud to say that roughly about 75% of our product range is crafted from 100% organic cotton, and other more sustainable fabrics in our products, all of which align with our vision of promoting a greener and more compassionate future.
No chemicals are involved, meaning we’re keeping the environment and our customers safe. And our prints? They’re rocking eco vegan inks, ensuring that our creativity doesn’t come at the expense of the planet. But it doesn’t stop there; we’ve gone the extra mile to source from producers with fair trade certifications, ensuring no exploitation happens at any step of the production process. And shipping? Plastic-free zone! We’ve ditched the plastic and opted for recyclable cardboard packaging, printed with vegan eco inks.
Can you name certifications, partnerships, or initiatives that validate the conscious aspects of your brand?
As a brand that takes pride in our ethical stance, we’ve partnered with various producers who share our values and have obtained various fair trade certifications such as the Fair Wear Foundation, Fairtrade, WRAP, GOTS. We’ve been recognized for our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, forging partnerships and initiatives that validate our brand’s integrity. At Plant Faced, we’re not just another fashion label; we’re a movement for change—a collective of conscious individuals striving to make the world a better place. Our certifications serve as a testament to our dedication to creating a transparent supply chain and supporting fair working conditions. It’s not just about making clothing; it’s about making a difference.
For all our garments, we only partner with suppliers known for their commitment to ethical practices and who hold various certifications. They are all members of the Fair Wear Foundation, Fairtrade, WRAP, GOTS and many hold multiple eco-certifications, ensuring a supply chain that aligns with our values of sustainability and fairness. Each specific garment’s product page lists the certifications which that product holds. The Fair Wear certification involves strict checks and procedures to guarantee the ethical and responsible treatment of workers throughout the supply chain.
Additionally, our finishing processes, including printing and labels, are entrusted to a UK-based small business with exceptional ethical policies and whom offer a wide range of eco-friendly products, sharing our commitment to using vegan-friendly, waterbased, eco-friendly inks, reflecting our desire for environmentally conscious practices. We have chosen them for their dedication to their workforce and environmental consciousness.
And of course, everything we do and produce is 100% vegan, cruelty-free!
At Plant Faced, we are not only passionate about creating stylish and sustainable fashion but also about making a positive impact on the environment.
